To offer a unique approach to high school where students with different learning styles thrive academically, emotionally, and socially.
OF STUDENTS ARE ACCEPTED TO COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES ACROSS THE COUNTRY IN A GIVEN GRADUATING CLASS
“The best way to prepare our students for an ever-changing world is not by lowering the educational bar but by removing the barriers.”
— Mrs. PJ Petrillo, Head of School
Giving Each Student the Keys to Success
At KPHS, we are dedicated to teaching students to celebrate who they are and how to enjoy their own level of accomplishment, while striving to reach pinnacles of success they have not previously achieved. Located in the heart of Hillsborough County, Keystone Prep serves students in grades 9 -12. Our students will experience what is good in all good schools, but something much more in our different approach.
Dig into Experiential Learning
Students often learn best with hands-on, multisensory projects that engage them in their own education. Whether it’s conducting an on-campus archeology dig, creating a water purification system, building a 40-foot replica of the Eiffel Tower from pizza boxes, or diving into biology and art by creating a 10’ Portuguese Man-O-War, built out of recyclables, the students love learning at KPHS. We approach learning differently on purpose. It begins and ends with excited teachers. We also believe school can be fun and work hard to convey that message to our students. Those who get excited in the great experiences love school.
Réussir: A School within a School
The Réussir Program is an incredible special needs classroom or School within a School. It was created for students who need assistance and accommodations for those needs. This modified high school program provides these students an opportunity to succeed, through the Ascend Program, Career Readiness, Life Skills Development, and a Transitional Workplace. It is amazing to watch how these students develop from their first year to their last. They enjoy a normal high school experience as they mainstream and attend activities in a more controlled and supportive environment, so they are not intimidated or lost in a big school. Our students are accepted, encouraged, loved, and welcomed by our student body and viewed as regular high school students reaching for their goals, just like everyone else.
