How to Apply
Applying begins when you schedule a Family Tour…
If you are interested in learning more about the school or are considering applying, please contact our Admissions Coordinator, Mrs. Gabrielle Pomales, at admissions@keystoneprep.org to schedule an initial meeting and school tour. While we love to show off our school in person, please be assured that this can be done over the phone or through Zoom or Facetime if you are unable to visit in person. Prospective students are a vital part of this interview process and the student is encouraged to attend the initial meeting along with their parents or guardians. If, however, you would like, at some point, to speak with us privately regarding your student’s needs, please let us know when you call to schedule your tour so that we can accommodate you.
The family tour typically takes 45 minutes to an hour, as it is our sincere desire to get to know each and every prospective family. Our goal is to ensure that each student we accept will succeed academically, emotionally, and socially, and for that reason the more information you can communicate to us about your student and the more we can get to know your family, the better. Not every school is right for every student, so we know that you will also want to take the time to be sure to determine if KPHS is a good fit for your student. Keystone Prep staff partners with our families to work to create the most optimum learning environment for the greatest success possible. A thorough admissions process is the first step towards that success.
What to expect during your tour…

Our Admissions Coordinator will speak with you about your student’s needs and review your application and documents. This is an important time for you to share your student’s history and share where they might have struggled before. KPHS is a new beginning. The more we know, the more we can help your student succeed. At this time, you may also set up a second visit for your student to SHADOW another student for the day, if they would like.

You will be taken on a tour of the school classrooms and facility where you will learn about the school’s safety and security features and have an opportunity to meet some of the faculty and staff.

Your family will be introduced to staff such as the ESE Specialist, School Counselor and the Support Staff. We believe it is important for you to know WHO your student will be entrusted to on a day to day basis.

Your student will be welcomed by a Student Ambassador, who will share with them his or her own new school experience at KPHS, and answer any questions you or your son or daughter may have.

The visit will culminate in a brief meeting with the Head of School, as it is our desire to get to know each student personally and to better understand their needs when they are at school. Parents are encouraged to share their family’s needs and history, so that we know best how to help you. During this meeting, the head will also discuss any financial aid or scholarship concerns your family may have. KPHS is not a public school and relies on tuition to deliver the quality education it has become known for. However, there are amazing options available to help our students attend if the cost of tuition is a concern for your family. The head will work with your family to explore these options to try to find a viable way for your student to be able to attend KPHS.
Complete an Application…
We recommend you complete the application (see link below) and bring it with you on your family visit. Although this is not required for the tour, having this information allows us to have a more comprehensive visit with you and can also shorten the enrollment process. Be sure to include any documentation regarding any diagnosis, IEP’s, 504’s or psychoeducational evaluations, as well as prior discipline or suspension and expulsion issues. We also want to know any other information that may be relevant as we work towards understanding your student and their needs – for example, if your student experienced bullying of any sort, if they began to fall behind in a large school where they were too intimidated to ask for help, or if they were leaning towards a peer group that you were not comfortable with. The more we know the more we can help you help them succeed.

Please include current varieties of any of the known testing records you have, such as:
- PSAT (preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test)
- SSAT (Secondary School Admission Test)
- SAT- 10 (Stanford Achievement Test)
- NWEA- MAP Growth
- WRAT-4 (Achievement Test)
Other Information Needed…
Please supply the following documents to speed admittance or to hold a limited grade spot:
- Birth Certificate, Immunization Records, School Physical, Social Security Card
- Diagnosed Disorders from a Licensed Mental Health Provider or the Public Schools, if requesting accommodation supports for their learning
- IEP, 504, or Psychoeducational Evaluation
- Discipline, Suspension, or Expulsion Records, should any exist
